Groped on the SkyTrain
Today I was groped on the SkyTrain. Now, as a man, this is not normally something you would expect to happen. A relative young lady sat down next to me after changing seats. Over a stop or two she began to get progressively closer to me. I didn’t notice at first until she asked for the time. Not having the time, she went into her bag and checked her phone. Clue #1 that something was up. She...

Berlin interviews (finale)
So I’m finally back after a crazy trip to Berlin. I spoke this morning with my contact at Nokia gate5 who made a really great offer. At first I said I would consider it amongst the other offers (that have yet to come in), but after getting off the phone and talking with Sabine, I realized that this was the right choice. I emailed him back immediately and accepted the offer. What does that...

Berlin interviews (part 3)
I love German beer. I love that I can sit in a small corner store run by a friendly Turkish man, have Internet access for €1 an hour and drink a €1.30 half litre of cold German beer (Schneider Weisse “Kristall” in this case). Thank you Germany, thank you.

Berlin interviews (part 2)
Today was as planned and completely nuts. 3 interviews by 3 companies starting at 10am and finishing at 8pm. I’m looking forward to some rest and a chance to clear my head after all of this. A few photos to follow.

Berlin interviews (part 1)
So I arrived in Berlin yesterday afternoon, a bit groggy from not having much sleep on the plane. Too bad it’s raining right now too. But I’ve been emailing and on the phone all morning organizing my day. Looks like it will be as follows: 10am-2pm Interviews at Nokia gate5, hopefully they buy me lunch 2pm-4pm A mission to find Sabine’s chocolate 4pm-6pm Interview with Jason...

Whistler Blackcomb Peak 2 Peak starts running →
Whistler Blackcomb’s record breaking Peak 2 Peak gondola started running today by sending 12 of the “sky cabins” across the 4.4km span. The longest unsupported part of the span is 3km long! It will be as high as two Statue of Liberties above the valley floor. The lift opens to the public on Dec. 12 of this year. Gonna be one hell of a ride.

SimCity redux
emilyposts: I am totally craving a good game of SimCity. What ever happened to that game? Sabine and I love playing this when we visit her family. We love it so much that when we got a Wii, we bought the classic SimCity on the Wii’s virtual console. Go get a Wii!

It's here - the Canon 5D Mark II →
Most impressive new features that will make this a killer: HD video at 1080p, ISO up to 25,600 (that’s 3 stops past ISO 3,200), 21MP, street price of US$2,699. I’m placing my order. Better order some honkin’ big CF cards while I’m at it. The bad news. Yet another new battery type meaning yet another charger. Please people, can we get on universal chargers already? ...

When it rains...
I hate the saying, but it seems to be true sometimes. I’ve applied to probably over 40 jobs in Germany and have been getting a few very positive responses the last week or so. Today I got an email from Manning Publications asking me if I would be interested in writing a book for them. I’m currently one of the reviewers of Manning’s Mule in Action which is being written by my...

“Thanks Josh. It would be that week from the 30th to the 5th so you can celebrate...”
– An email from my Dad regarding spending a week in May/June in Italy with my family for his 60th birthday. He really enjoys telling me that I am his favorite son. What is important to know is that I am his only son. Apparently he is now applying the same rules to Sabine. Could be worse I suppose! ...

2 of 3
Just finished shoot 2 of 3 for the day. I’m really looking foward to the day when I truly have weekends free. Like, an entire weekend, uninterrupted, with nothing that “needs” to be done. Alas, I’m not sure that will happen until after the wedding or maybe even until after we move. Yikes!
