Crazy borders -- Netherlands-Belgium →
What the heck is going on in the town of Baarle-Nassau in the Netherlands? Check out the borders in the town and around it. Apparently they are based on about 1,000 years of history between the two countries. I need to see this place!

Brutal, yet hillarious.
Cruise ship cut in half →
How do you make a cruise ship bigger? Well cut it in half and stuff an extra bit in between. Duh.
Sinking ship? →
So this is either a sinking ship or the merging of satellite images. Not sure which one. Zoom out and pan the right. There’s another tug there with a rope/line to something.
The Google alphabet, 2008 edition →
Type each letter of the alphabet into Google and this is what comes out (as compared to results from 2004).
European jobs
So I’ve started looking around for jobs in Europe (namely Germany and Luxembourg) and I had a phone call with a UK recruiter just now. He’s filling a position for a large international company (whose name I apparently can’t reveal). The job is in Hanover, smack dab in the middle between Koln and Berlin. It looks like sweet schnitz. The work isn’t necessarily too compelling...
Don't just save your money...
sabine:
Find your money.
In Canada, there is about $294 million sitting in 845,000 accounts. Sure, 95 per cent of these are under $500 but that’s still money found.
When an account has been inactive for 10 years, the funds get transferred in trust to the Bank of Canada. There, accounts under $1,000 are held for 40 years and those for more than $1,000 for 100 years.

You're fired
The company I work for is shutting down (more or less). I found out last week when I was in Toronto, which is never a good way to find out about something like that. Time to go talk to my manager since I just got into the office.
Real online image searching →
Forget a Google Images text based search, TinEye has a real image search. Upload a photo or point it at a URL of a photo and TinEye will find matching or similar photos based on the photo itself! Why didn’t I think of this? If you can find a photo of the Mona Lisa photoshopped with Mr. Bean into it using a snapshot of the Mona Lisa, this thing wins in my books. Watch the demo and you will...

A 360 degree panoramic photo taken about 30 mins. before the start of the men’s 100m sprint inside the Olympic stadium.
Ugh
Sabine lost our camera. Apparently it fell out of her pocket in a cab. Some Montreal cabbie is now very happy. I still love her though. She makes good pies (amongst other reasons).

As tired as I may be right now, I have two shoots tomorrow. One of which is at sunrise for Kayak For A Cure. I donate my time and photography to help these guys out every year. If you are so inclined, donate and help the cause!
